His holiness Sant Teja Singh Ji was born at Pohir, district Ludhiana, on 17 Jan. 1927 into the household of Sardar Ram Singh and Mata Sant Kaur. He completed his primary education from the village school. He learnt (to recite) the Gurbani and its recital (Kirtan) under the tutelage of Ghani Gyan Singh of Gurdwara Sahib, Mandi Ahmedgarh. After spending the early years of his youth in Calcutta, Syalkot and Mussouri, he returned to Pohir.

As a child he used to accompany the village congregation to Rara Sahib. But in 1948 he finally resolved to settle at Rara Sahib under the aegis and patronage of Sant Isher Singh Ji and undertook the devout services of the sanctum sanatorium. Delighted with his services the patron saint made him in charge (Shrimaan) of the community kitchen (Guru Ka Langar). He dispensed this service regularly for six years. He also served in the farm of Gurdwara Sahib for a brief spell.

Sant Teja Singh Ji has been keenly devoted to the Gurbani. Besides the ‘Banis’ of ‘Nitnem’ and ‘Panj Granthi’ he has learnt most of ‘Shri Dasam Granth Sahib’ by heart. Sant Isher Singh Ji used to be charmed by his recital of Gurbani. It was Sant Teja Singh Ji’s love for the Gurbani that brought him closer to Sant Isher Singh Ji. Besides reciting Gurbani to his patron and mentor, he prepared meals for him. He used to accompany his mentor and perform the ‘ardas’ at the termination of each congregation (The Diwan). After Sant Isher Singh Ji left for his heavenly abode, Sant Teja Singh Ji was entrusted upon the services of the ‘Bhora Sahib’, which he is performing hole heartedly to this day.

On 10th January 1990, all the religious organizations, the chiefs of different Sikh communities, the sangat of the surrounding areas and Gurdwara Karamsar Rara Sahib Trust bestowed all the responsibilities of care and service of the Gurdwara upon Sant Teja Singh Ji. Despite spending most of his time in the Bhora Sahib (the privy chamber of Sant Isher Singh Ji) Sant Ji shouldered all the responsibilities of the Gurdwara Sahib perfectly with the co-operation of the ‘Gurdwara Karamsar Rara Sahib Trust’.

ਸੰਤ ਤੇਜਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਪਿੰਡ ਪੋਹੀੜ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਿੱਚ 17 ਜਨਵਰੀ 1927 ਈ: ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰ: ਰਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੰਤ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ ਹੋਇਆ।

ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਮੰਡੀ ਅਹਿਮਦਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੀ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਥਿਆ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜੁਆਨੀ ਦੇ ਕੁੱਝ ਮੁੱਢਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਕਲਕੱਤਾ, ਸਿਆਲਕੋਟ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਸੂਰੀ ਬਤੀਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਪੋਹੀੜ ਆ ਗਏ।

ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਾੜਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤਾਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਮਾਰਚ 1948 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਕੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਪਾਸ ਰਾੜਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਅਣਥੱਕ ਸੇਵਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

ਆਪ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਉੱਪਰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਗਰ ਦੇ ‘ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਾਨ’ (ਇੰਚਾਰਜ) ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਛੇ ਸਾਲ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਫਿਰ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਖੇਤੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਆਪ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਰਸੀਏ ਸਨ। ਨਿੱਤਨੇਮ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜ ਗ੍ਰਥੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਣੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ‘ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ’ ਦੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵੀ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਕੰਠ ਸੀ।

ਵੱਡੇ ਸੰਤ ਜੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਰਦੇ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਲਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਆਪ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਦਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਆਪ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਫੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ। ਦੀਵਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵੀ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਰਦੀ।
ਵੱਡੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਛੋਟੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਡਿਊਟੀ ‘ਭੋਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ’ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਨ-ਦੇਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।

ਛੋਟੇ ਸੰਤ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤਖ਼ਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ, ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਪ੍ਰਦਾਵਾਂ, ਇਲਾਕਾ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ‘ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਰਮਸਰ ਰਾੜਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਟਰੱਸਟ’ ਵਲੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਦਇਆ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਚਲੀ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਸੰਤ ਸੰਪ੍ਰਦਾਇ ਦੇ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ।

ਲੱਖਾਂ ਹੀ ਟੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਸੁਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਆਪ 9 ਦਸੰਬਰ 2014 ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਜਾ ਬਿਰਾਜੇ।
