Baba Sobha Singh ji of Anandpur Sahib was very much influenced with the services of Bhai Daya Singh Ji, head of the Five Beloved Ones and the founder of the Spiritual Lineage. Acknowledging his life as an ideal Gursikh, he also geared up for his services by dedicating himself to the Guru.
After Guru Gobind Singh ji left for his heavenly abode, if one talks of fully devoted sikhs who did selfless service of Anandpur Sahib and took care of re-inhabitating it, two names are mentioned in the first go: one Bhai Gurbaksh ji and second Baba Sobha Singh ji.
Bhai Gurbaskh Singh ji remained active in the service of Ninth Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s, Sisganj Sahib and Baba Sobha Singh ji of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib.
After the inception of some favourable circumstances, he resumed the tradition of celebrating JORMELAS (Sikh congregations), especially Hola Mohalla, etc at Anandpur Sahib
A large gathering of Sangat began and the tradition of Amrit Sanchar resumed. Guru ka Langar (Free Kitchen) began to function incessantly.
According to the tradition of Anandpur Sahib, showing the path of SURAT-SHABAD to the ones, treading the path of spirituality, aim to have a glimpse of the Almighty; Langar (food) for hungry and needy, medicine of Naam for the ones who are mentally sick with egotism and other vices, and services of distribution of medicines for the physically sick started.
At the birthplace of Khalsa, this practice initiated by him proved to be a great example of community service in Guru-Panth and Spiritual Lineage of Bhai Daya Singh ji.
