Sant Bhag Singh ji Kuri Wale, from his childhood, was an epitome of devotional worship, spiritual yoga, detachment, righteousness and renunciation. He spent most of his life in the company of coterie of saints, doing spiritual deliberations and going for pilgrimages.

While on pilgrimage, he would sometimes encounter dreadful wild animals but after having his holy glimpse even they used to give up their wild nature. He met one prostitute in Wazirabad. She got so impressed by doing his darshan (glimples) that she came out of the mire of vices and started worshiping God, holding a tasbeeh (rosary: string of beads).

After visiting many religious places, he went on a pilgrimage to Takht Abchal Nagar Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib, Nanded. On his return, with the inspiration of Baba Sahib Singh ji Bedi of Una Sahib, he got baptized.

Afterward, he did a great austere worship in the town of Kuri. He used to spend most of the time in solitude, engaging in Simran – sadhna (Remembrance – mediation of God).

His disciple Baba Bir Singh ji’s strength of utter determination and toil was recognised by whole of Majha.

He after purifying himself in the furnace service of Baba Bhag Singh ji, he presented himself in the service of Baba Sahib Singh Ji Bedi.

ਸੰਤ ਭਾਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਕੁਰ੍ਹੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਭਗਤੀ, ਜੋਗ, ਵੈਰਾਗ, ਨੇਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਸਨ।

ਮਹਾਂਪੁਰਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੰਡਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਚਰਦਿਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਚਰਚਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗ਼ੁਜਾਰਿਆ।

ਤੀਰਥ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਹ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਖੂੰਖਾਰ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਆਪ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਸੁਭਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ। ਵਜ਼ੀਰਾਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਕਬੂਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਲਦਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਤਸਬੀ ਫੜ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗ਼ੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਆਪ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਅਬਚਲ ਨਗਰ ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਨਾਂਦੇੜ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਗਏ।ਵਾਪਿਸ ਆਕੇ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਬਾਬਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਬੇਦੀ ਊਨਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਖੰਡੇ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛਕਿਆ।

ਉਪਰੰਤ ਆਪ ਨੇ ਕੁਰ੍ਹੀ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੜੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ। ਆਪ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਇਕਾਂਤ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ-ਸਾਧਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਬਤੀਤ ਕਰਦੇ। ਆਪ ਦੇ ਚਾਟੜੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਰੜ ਅਤੇ ਘਾਲਣਾ ਦਾ ਲੋਹਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਮਾਝਾ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਕੁਠਾਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਢਲ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਬਾਬਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਬੇਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
